Who should attend:
Those at any level of the organization who are interested in improving their ability to communicate in a more persuasive manner.
Course objectives:
As a result of attending this seminar, participants will learn the answers to such questions as:
- What are my strengths as an influencer?
- Are there other influence approaches which I rarely use or do not use well?
- Do I alter my influence behavior as conditions change or do I tend to use the same approach when another might be more effective.
Program overview:
For those without formal authority, effective influence is often the only way to acquire they support they need. The day-to-day business of the organization simply cannot get done without it. A key factor for success is knowing how to build effective alliances for getting things done through others people, up, down, across, and outside their organization. It is no accident that certain people are more influential than others. The program will help participants to present ideas in a well-thought-out, convincing fashion to maximize their ability to persuade others to provide needed support.
The workshop will help participants develop increased strength and flexibility in the way they influence others. In this intensive, hard-hitting workshop, you will learn a straightforward model of influence behaviors. After assessing your current comfort and skill level, you will identify certain behaviors for practice in real-world influence situations. You will learn to set influence goals and choose appropriate strategies. Finally, you will focus on planning for an important upcoming influence opportunity. Topics covered include:
- What are your influence strengths & weaknesses?
